Susan Mary Byrne-Wickey is a passionate and seasoned educator who has spent over three decades shaping young minds in Hawai‘i’s public schools. After her retirement, she established a Lab School for middle school students in her home, creating a hands-on learning environment centered on relationships, collaboration and engagement.

She later brought her talent for writing and advocacy to Ma Ka Hana Ka ʻIke, serving as a grant writer to support youth empowerment through cultural learning and building. With a masters degree in educational administration and a storyteller‘s heart, Susan Mary writes with a rare combination of clarity compassion and truth. Her work offers valuable perspectives and practical insights, blending honesty and vulnerability in a way that draws readers in and stays with them long after the story ends.
